Read moreYear four of “622” completes the 4-year cycle with an exploration of devotional and liturgical patterns for Christian living that can help tether us to our true identity. We’ll look at baptism, matrimony, and burial; seasons of sickness, penance and thanksgiving, as well as those times when we simply feel “at sea.” No matter our circumstances, believers are called to be rooted in the spiritual reality beyond what we see and feel, walking by faith and not by sight. Get ready to go deeper with another action-packed year!
Read moreIn the third year of 622 we take a look at the saints – believers who faced challenging times and wrestled with personal failings, just as we do today, but they put their trust in God, and through them he did wonderful things. These people from far-flung eras and places are our family! We serve the same unchanging God. We share the same foundation. And God’s providential care is helping us towards the same goal. We have a lot in common with them and a lot to learn from them!
Read moreThe second year of 622 draws inspiration from the Litany, which at its heart is an invitation to enter into the presence of an awesome God, and to bring before him the myriad concerns that shape our lives: concerns for our world, for the church, and for our own wellbeing. The Litany doesn’t shy away from confronting darkness, but recognizes that we have a sovereign God who is merciful towards us, and that we have been given the privilege of approaching him through what Christ did for us.
Read moreThe first year of 622 is organized into six units. These sections begin with a unit exploring our relationship with God – by whom we are known completely, loved unconditionally and destined for a glorious future. From there, we look at the meaning of praying together, the story of our spiritual ancestors (and how we can pray “with” them), building a personal habit of devotion, the significance of Holy Communion, and how all of this impacts our lives as individuals and as a Church. The flow of lessons takes into consideration the Church calendar, so that lessons touching on the Incarnation coincide approximately with Advent, and an in-depth look at Holy Communion occurs during Lent.
Read more622 is easy to access, highly adaptable, and it’s intended for any parish seeking to both engage and educate with their programming for youth. The study series aims to facilitate an experience of God—grounded in scripture and tradition—to help youth understand their relationship to God, discovering who they truly are in the process, while at the same time equipping them with the tools they will need to answer the questions posed by life, culture and critics of the faith.
